Basketball Backboard - Can i mount an aluminum basketball backboard onto a brick wall?
i want to install just the backboard on a brick wall. i am wondering if you think i can put this court on the wall without a pole and just hang it on by drilling it?(or if you have any suggestions). i plan to put a removable rim on it. here’s a link to the backboard http://cgi.ebay.com/Aluminum-Fan-Backboard-Unpainted_W0QQitemZ120090947880QQihZ002QQcategoryZ2023QQdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem and here’s the link to the rim http://www.flaghouse.com/completeDescription.asp?T1=2796
No problem at all. You will need a masonry drill bit and concrete anchors. What it is basically is a lead insert that you will put in the hole you drilled. The lead insert has a hole in the center that you can use to put your bolts into. Use flush mount phillips head 1/4 inch bolts… Be sure and get the correct length. Check out your local home depot or lowes… Its simple and anyone can do it.

yes you can just use redheads. You will have to predrill holes but once you get them in there it shouldnt ever come out.

yes but I would use lead anchors drill hole in center of the brick at least 4 or 5 get some lead anchors they come in studs that anchor into the brick or a anchor that is taped into the brick and a threaded bolt screws into it ask your local home depot for the right one they will be in the bolt department
happy hanging
